There's bruises on her body,
Blue and black
She promises me
That she'll never go back
I know that she's lying
by the way her eyes are
She's fallen in love
with the lasting scar
The bruises will heal
But the pain will not
Her happiness
is for what I fought
If I can't save her
I don't know what will
Maybe all that she's looking for
Is the pain that kills
To take her away
From what she "loves"
And be with god
up above
To be with the angels
that healed her pain
To walk in the sunlight
and never have it rain
