Dont let me die in bed In a sterile room with drugs in my head;
As friends come and leave; pausing to grieve; Smiling to hide their dread.
Leave me at home; leave me alone. With things that I love around me.
Let my last sight be my ceiling tonight; With the tick of my clock to remind me;
This moment is mine; Let me define; The way that God will find me.

Powerful. The rawness of your truth yanks at my heart.

I can really appreciate this poem.
This year I was in this position.
With 50 things tied to me I awoke with a bunch of good people around me but they were all teared up
and being in that position that is the last thing you want to see. And let me tell you an honest 50/50 chance of survival will wake anybody up. A in your face reality check.
Again a fine poem from one of the greats!
