Im standing all alone
all alone in a field
the clouds start to roll faster
the clouds start to grow thicker
the sun starts to go away
the sounds starts to fade
not far away
in a wooded place
I peer
someone near to the ground
I fear
Im standing not alone
not alone in a field
the wind starts to swirl
starts to swirl my hair in my face
I no longer can see the wooded place
fear starts to move near
it peers at me
Im scared
my dear
it sighed in a nasty high
come over here
Im standing not alone
not alone in the woods
I start to cry
as it eats me alive
no narrow escape
no handsome man in a red cape
what did I do to get here
where did I go wrong
my bread crumbs have been eatin
no retracing my foot steps today
for I shall be eatin
becuz I let evil have its way
I will die becuz I sinned
or I will live if Im forgivin
I awake from the dream with a new vison on life
Ill stay out of trouble
and do what I know to be right
becuz evil and curiosity
may cost me my life

| i like the fairy tale analogies and the "modern" way of spelling at the end... gives it a younger feel to a scary poem... the last four lines are powerful... blessings... |
