Sleepless night once again
Is that rain I hear outside?
I can't lay in that bed
Without you one more time
I need you beside me
'Cause I miss you too damn much
I'm afraid of the thoughts
That wander into my head
When I close my eyes in the silence
And what if I dream of you?
It hurts too much when I'm not with you
When you're so far away
You with the big brown eyes
That just light up when you smile
That smile that gets me every time
And the look in those eyes...
That's what tells me
Exactly how much you love me
That, and the way you touch me
Damn, I miss your touch
I wish I didn't think about it so much
I wish you would've stayed
Like you did in the first place
I wish you'd get your priorites straight
Wouldn't you rather be with me?
Be with the girl you think about marrying?
Be with the girl whose children
You're gonna love 'cause they'll be yours?
How I feel shines through
So brightly to you
'Cause I'm always wearing
My heart on my sleeve
I'm a little edgy 'cause
I'm constantly feeling the effects of you
So sue me for needing to be by the side
Of the one I belong to
The dull, wistful ache
Of my heart wanting more
Has me knowing I can never rest
Till you're by my side
I know this isn't how
You want to live your life
I need you here with me
So I can sleep at night
'Cause I only feel like me
When I'm with you

wow...i loved this poem...its so perfect...i feel the same way with my bf right now....perhaps you are away from a certain someone, but my bf is here...just never seems to have time to me, i value these lines "I wish you'd get your priorites straight
Wouldn't you rather be with me?" it really does hurt. wonderful writing, absolutely touched me. keep at it
