It is raining outside
like a crippled pilgrim I moan
and
my shadow sighs as I realize
that I am in a virtual relationship
and I did not even know.
I text you
and
it takes you 3 days to respond
and when you do
you say
that nothing is wrong,
You say you want me around
yet
you are no where to be found,
can not recall the last time
I heard your voice
I try and I try
but I fail every time.
you see
in this virtual world
We are not in the same book
so the pages are all wrong
and
I have not seen you for so long
(and it has been awhile)
I have forgotten how you look
and I am uncertain
if I want this emotion anymore.

A song of wistful disconnecting. Pulling up roots that are no longer vital.
No matter how certain we are; it is always a loss to let go. An uncertain feeling that perhaps we have failed.
Your words echo the shadows of
feelings that you are no longer in touch with.
You have captured here the transition from love to loss; the ethereal ghosting of what was, coming to face with what is, and that is your "virtual world".
To describe emotions as they are is difficult---to describe them as they are fading is to write a sunset.
