Take me down To the river/'/s edge So I may peer into the water To see if I/'/m among The living or dead I/'/m a soulless mind Forgotten by time Living in a past Surely not made to last Simply left behind By so many that came before Who were so much more refined If not supremely divine The vision I see Is not the man Once beknown to me Weathered by storms Disillusioned by time Out of sync A rhythmless rhyme I shall search on To seek and find Others of my creed My very same kind Given the knowledge To prosper and succeed I pray to God May I be Defined

I/'/m feeling much the same way of late, James. You did a good job here of defining that, and I thank you for sharing this.

I think you/'/ve defined yourself very well, and most of an honest mind will know your creed. /'/A rhythmless rhyme, disillusioned by time./'/ Oh yes, James, if you/'/re left behind, you/'/re in a rather large crowd. Well written.

A person is defined by their actions. Your actions yesterday, or in the past cannot be undone. As well as tomorrow or the future cannot be lived in today. Set out today to define who you are and want to be remembered as. It is easy to spot the differences in others (or ourselves). Patience and an open mind are required to see the similarities.
Thank you for sharing. I enjoyed this read.

// I get this, I do.
Love the structure. Love the question. Guess that`s part of life.
Thank you,
