Me thinks drinking may well be the prime sin. Givest me that evil every time, lad. You can boast of other ways now akin, true, but they dont makest me half so glad. Im glad finding new friends sharing my fault, they dont leave this blighter feeling so sad, rather they bring cheer to a bad old salt, Know this, Mate, its a good time now Ive had.
Makest thyself useful, maid, bring a cup placing same on table, ales not so bad. My friends show their great thirst after fine sup, pray, dont keep them waiting, they will be mad. Leave the cold out, well drink talking night long life without drink seems to me is most sad. A man hating ale has something most wrong. I think he is a fat wretched staid cad.

Why does this remind me of wooden plank floors and mahogany bartops with tall glass-bottomed ale glasses so that when lifting your tankard to drink with a stranger you could warn him "Heres looking at ya!"
I love the language, its so like music to a familiar song sung among friends.
A hearty tale here you have spun,
and sad am I the tale is done.
