You reach out and touch me your will is to give me hope You see my path of destruction caught up in a world of dope
You have noticed the change in me from the person I used to be You want to help open my eyes again because there is so much more to see
Caught up in a world of my own I feel your touch, but it is so faint The picture of this world I have is a strange picture that I paint
Feeling so lost and lonely even when I have a friend like you You keep trying to pull me back to reality because of your love for me, its what you pursue
My life was not going so well so I wanted to experience a different path Now I fight the addiction and also fight the evil of its wrath
Dear friend of which you are thank you for standing by my side Thank you for helping me find myself I no longer need to run and hide
Because of people like you who speak out and help the ones lost in self infliction Our eyes can again be opened and feel once again, being able to fight our horrible addiction
I dedicate this to all of those fighting any sort of drug addiction

Bravo!! I/'/ve spent a fair share of my life in addiction to any number of substances; I can relate. If I spent 1/10th the energy in embracing a sober course as I did in a destructive one, I would be much farther down the road of recovery.
Well done poem...nice rhymes...not forced....flows well and leaves a very positive message.
