Since I was but a young mind, my eyes were opened to a strange world. One designed for individual success, no spark within the heart, just chaos stacked on the mind. Parents, media, education, placing seeds of separation and ignorance on me with the weight of the world. Told I must be this way, to live this life chasing things I never truly own. Defined and cataloged, placed with others and told to watch your back. Unknowing to them those seeds will never grow, never seeing the difference in humanity other than shades and culture We all held the same dream, safety for our community. The spark that grew within me was love, for all matter in this world. Acceptance that we all share a gift of life, the rock, this spinning ball we call home, all apart of this reality. Our daily struggles a binding we seldom see, yet affects us all. We are guided by the thoughts of others, most conform to the illusion of freedom, while the rest of the world burns. Giving apologies to generations long dead will not help them rest more in peace. Dwelling on it only brings the pain that went with it. Blaming those who walk today for the crimes of yesterday is pointless. It is time we grew and accepted our own mistakes. Life is too easy to throw your hands up in the air and say I quit, not noticing the trail of damage we leave behind. Justice only holds justice for its own. We must accept that our own paranoia has created a prison planet. Generations of Tony Montana/'/s walking with boots of blood for little gains. Authority treating us like animals, a jury of shells with barrel judgement. Expecting us to rise against them, as we fight amongst ourselves. Where is the brotherhood if we are beating and killing each other? What is sisterhood if we are tearing each other to shreds? Is it progress if we are forcing people to live by another ideology? You call this freedom if we are telling people to shut up... We are humans, and yes we are animals. From caves to skyscrapers we have managed to achieve modern day slavery. Debt in the new master, money is the same old god. Now the hardest part is the solution, the part that gives hope. You will not find answers in these words, that it is up to you to achieve. I only know my place is beside you, to take back a world being laid to waist. Revolution will not be achieved by separate ideologies. A true revolt would be to unbind the world. To take the strings of thread that hold our flags and cast a safety line to the rest of the world. I am human, my only belief is the safety of every living thing and the planet we need to keep living. These words are not from a left or a right, I am neither socialist and differently not capitalist. Just words from one who loves. One who sees the better in us all.

Before we can give to others we must meet our own basic needs for food, shelter, and safety. Altruism is a product of excess; a sorely lacking commodity.
We cannot be keeper to all of our brothers; we can only be brothers.
I admire your premise; but until the planet is faced with a common enemy greater than ourselves, we will not set aside our differences to join in our own survival.

we can only hope things get better. |
