The Illusion that is love
embraces me
with THE kiss of anxiety,
it is insane to be doing this again
but
my addiction is deep.
Resistance is useless
I only see what I want
I got to have it
It is all that I need.
This could be I or nothing at all
I grin maniacally
as the needle plunges in
and I
begin to fly again.
Though I know that it is wrong
and the enemy is me
I got to get that feeling back
like the first time
ohhh
my addiction to the illusion
will be the death of me.

Eventually, you will learn to hate the illusion (aka., lie), resent it for the theft of your life. When you hate something, you want nothing to do with it.
I hope you don/'/t wait as long as I did (30 years) to realize this truth. You do or you die.
An addiction to the illusion means your reality sucks balls by comparison. It is far easier to change your reality for the good until the illusion becomes the pile of /*****/, NOT your reality. I know WTF I/'/m talking about.

| Your poem is so easy to relate to. This is probably the hardest addiction to beat, and I have battled one or two others, perhaps I still do. great write. |
