An Officer Of The Law

Contributed by waynster on Sunday, 17th July 2016 @ 05:31:25 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

I took an oath
and wear a uniform of either black or blue
I roam the streets day and night
to keep neighborhoods safe for you
*
I may not be perfect
but I try hard to be good at what I do
Because I love my job
every day there is something new
*
I carry a side arm
but hope it never has to be used
Because those times are the worse
and decisions not to be abused
*
Our job is to serve and protect
along with that we do so much more
Its not a job for everyone
our job, not many adore
*
Putting on our uniform
to start out a working day
We never know if we make it home
it is something in which we pray
*
Society can be so cruel
often times it makes our job so hard
We have to be diligent in what we do
we cannot let down our guard
*
When I wear this uniform
it makes me proud to serve
I stand with all my brothers and sisters
to uphold and protect all your freedoms you deserve
*
*
