The Reckoning

Contributed by odessa19 on Monday, 8th August 2016 @ 11:39:46 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

Darkness tried to reach me yesterday.

It was very plain and almost polite.
A casual request to connect.

A simple invitation, if you will.
A chance to say hello...remember me?

But I could see the darkness this time.

I recognized your shadow as it approached.

The seemingly innocent conversation that leaves your soul naked and ravished by devilish delight.

Yes, I see you.

But this time... you shall see me, too.

I will not be muted by survival
I will not be turned.

For you awoke the warrior.

My heart stopped that night . . . and drifted for a beat . . . or a thousand tiny drops of rain

Then came the thunder.
ANGER AND RAGE
Then came the lightening.
And, as you can guess - the fire grew...

So no. I will not entertain you.
I have no pity for your regret
Nor condolences for your sins

I am a warrior now and cannot bother with you.

Slowly seep back into your insignificance and know that it was I, who conquered you.

This is a most accurate description of finding our strength by extricating ourselves from a ravaging alliance. It is truly a moment of self power to learn we can stand without leaning. The price of freedom is to own ourselves and find we are worthy.
My favorite line sums it up perfectly..seep back into your insignificance and know that it was I, who conquered you.
Bravo, and congratulations.
