Where My Spirit Carries Me

Contributed by xHeathenx on Sunday, 21st August 2016 @ 05:58:05 AM in AEST
Topic: InspirationalPoems

Where fact becomes fiction
And fiction becomes fact;
Illusions/'/ fangs ready-
Poised to attack;

Where my spirit carries me

Where sinners become saints
And saints become angels;
Angels become demons
And demons become idols;

Where my spirit carries me

Where cloud becomes droplet
Finds respite in expansive sea;
Where earth dirt and rock
Scaffold al/'/gether in harmony;

Where my spirit carries me

Where beast becomes harlot
And harlot becomes nun;
Where winds become presses
Pushing us children to run;

Where my spirit carries me

Where the number of the beast
Is feared by the beast of number;
Where triumphs are found
And giants in slumber;

Where my spirit carries me

Where the moon pulls the ocean
And ocean covers land;
Where mountains high and tall
Are proud blades of sand;

Where my spirit carries me

Where art melds with beauty
And beauty with heart;
Where tears fall victim
To motion in part;

Where my spirit carries me

Where adventure is stoked
And experience is learned;
Where hearts are broke
And blessings are earned;

Where my spirit carries me

Where you find joy
You can also find pain;
So don/'/t dare stop
At sight of a some rain;

Where our spirit carries we;

Throughout our life
Is struggle and trial;
Riddles, broke bones,
And half-false wry smiles;

We will know anguish,
Misery, and pain;
But we must shine on,
Forge through the rain;

Where our spirit carries we;

Where through our glory,
And losses look/'/t so grim;
We will travel on yet more-
We will choose to live!;

Where climbs/'/ and falls/'/
Endings are most extreme;
We *will* know our bottom,
As well our highest peak;

Where at both junctures,
I leave a request to be:

"Go where your spirit carries ye."

You have given us an incantation to live by!
We do not change--only the things around us grow up and away.
A lovely reminder to move forward, however slowly,
always.
A song of freedom and the courage to pursue it.
And so well sung.

Wow!!! I am so glad I clicked on this poem (that I assumed I must/'/ve commented on).

This truly moved me. This may be your most exceptional piece yet. Well written, beautiful language and message. Stunning write all around, Mark!

I love how you switched it up halfway through.

I hope more people discover this gem. I/'/ll be back for sure.
