Lost In This Place

Contributed by jamesstockdale on Friday, 26th August 2016 @ 10:08:57 AM in AEST
Topic: anguished

Lost in this place
They call
An empty space
Void of all grace
Dignity displaced
I walk in the rain
To hide my misfortune and pain
My utter disdain
I hope this life doesn/'/t play
All over again
Here/'/s wishing
I/'/m on the mend
And this miserable life
Like a bad B movie
Comes to an end

First of all, welcome back, Mr. MIA. Glad to see you back

How about this "type" of life and hang around in this realm for a while longer? However, I can relate.

Very emotional poem and well writte, even though it gave me a huge sad.

Tim

Hi James....from Tim/'/s comment to you, I guess we/'/ve both been absent for a spell. And not to our betterment, as I read you, and, if you read me, you will find an echo to your words.

Funny thing is, I should be on clouds...but clouds are only solid from the ground.

I/'/m sad to find you in such pain, my friend. If you ever need an ear or a pal, pm me to get beyond this medium of communication. I cannot reply to messages, so make your contact info there if you so choose.

My best for you, James. Life ain/'/t grand, but there is a piano in there.

Mike

Welcome back James! Your words of sadness touch my heart. I seriously doubt that you could find an empty space void of all grace, knowing that your presence brings a grace all its own.
Forgive me, Im a fan.
Strength and resolve lies in your choice of anger over surrender. Passion for life is not passive!
In our frailest moments, the courage we summon to swing our sword in defiance, is subtly mirrored in your words.
But most of all, I love the distant thunder of an unyielded spirit that reveals the author without his ken. This is not a lament, this is a battle cry - the woe before the war. For all who have fallen, a call to rise. Roses at your feet. softerware

i feel walking in the rain
is a nice place if you are
singing like Gene Kelly

actually my mom would tout on and
on about Donald O/'/Conner,
talk about dancing

she would say

my daughter I named Grace
after my favorite teacher in college

her name was Grace Lee

kept her maiden name, her
parents worked to the bone
did all they did for her
treated her like a princess

back in the sixties, then sent her
to college in Davis to study art

She would sit out in the grass with
easel painting dawn to dusk

changes
the sky she told me was encountered
the first time when she went to
an artist camp in New Mexico

technologies like how to make engravings
is what she taught

she was a philosopher in my mind
the reason why I named my daughter
after her

James was my fathers name, Jim they called
him, the editor of his school paper
football star, marine in wwii

Lawrence was his actual first name which
he lost, and he kept the name James,
Jim his friends called him

the brightness in a person never fades
James, never could it

remember this
And you will always remain
just a smidgen less than lost

like the rest

of us are.

And write more, find it.
find it in the rain or in the cloud
does not matter how

Peace!

Heeeeeeeeey. I happen to like B movies!

I also like this poem.

If you/'/re looking to kick things up a notch, Tim and I have started a new tradition. Haunted Christmas songs! I can/'/t share the lyrics with you, because we can/'/t leave any witnesses. I mean...it/'/s a work in progress. 😏 Feel free to make your own.
It/'/s no B movie, but we can/'/t all be rockstars!
