A notebook sat with freckled ashes
Bar sign flicker beating up the calm
Word bank held captive by whiskey
Empty pages with stop and go bile
Strangers are just dash of thought
Cigarettes hide face in kimono sway
Vexation telling brain to chew on lip
Barmaid cleavage controls the glass
Nine ball clatter can/'/t drown its flies
Tonights pen a loss in forever forfeit

I was transported to a corner neighborhood bar I used to frequent. Nice.

Boy the vision bought back memories way back in the day. I seen it and tasted it through your words as if I went back 25 years ago.
A good thing for me not to remember too often. Thanks for a great write.

Your write brings us vivid snippets of scenes in a smokey bar. I envision this being penned on a cocktail napkin! How the mind wanders with the sights, sounds and fragrances of our surroundings!
How well you have described it!

Aphasia
we would wonder if
a writer would no longer
understand the words
that sat on the page
Aphasia a new name
to be dizzy or drunk
Aphasia a name
held down lost
- dear duff, difficult subject,
yet a full descriptive that one
should know about
well written!
Peace! |
