Beautiful girl
with the broken smile
Its been too long,
its been awhile
Since I/'/ve seen her laugh,
dance, or sing
She wears her heart,
that sting
On the sleeve
of her white t-shirt
If she only knew
about the hurt,
That she would
endure one day
Her heart, that smile
might/'/ve not strayed
Beautiful girl
with translucent tears
Crying in silent pain,
screaming out her fears
Tormenting herself
with others words,
That cut through her
like a giant sword
Right through the heart
it pierces the soul
If she learned to deal,
she might not feel so old
Mental and internal scars
sear every inch of skin
They/'/re locked inside,
trapped within
Beautiful girl
staring right back at me
In the mirror,
painful to see
Broken eyes,
with a broken smile
The only truth is that
its been awhile,
Since I/'/ve seen her laugh,
dance, or sing
she wears her heart,
that sting,
On the sleeve
of her white t-shirt
If she only knew
