So many things I could promise. That can bring you solace. For past transgressions. Of false loves bad intentions. How we tend to love with a worldly eye. Eventually just to say goodbye.
You carry so much pain and disappointment. For which there is no ointment. You were taken for a ride. Endured remarks so snide. Even dragged through the mud. Barely surviving the flood.
So what is it that I could do? To show my love for you. How will I get you to trust? That this is love and not lust. How will I get you to break down the wall? That you have built so tall.
Words just will not do. For someone as special as you. It is going to take much more than that. To show you that you are not a doormat. Yes, the years have gone by. And many tears you did cry.
There is much I can try. That could or would ratify. The sincerity of my heart. And its promise of comfort. A safe haven. To protect you from the Raven.
The only promise I will give. My life, pure I will live. So that on judgement day. To our Father I can say: Lord please may I speak? For it`s Your mercy I seek.
However not for mine own. But for this flower to me You did loan. To be my bride. Out of mine own side. To share my life. As my wife.
She has loved me true. This union`s glue. She is my best friend. To this day the end. Our family she did tend. Even from foe and friend, we all she did defend.
Father I bow before Thee. I offer my humble plea. Grant that I bear her transgressions. Yes, hear her confessions. But let me offer up my soul. To render her`s pure and whole.
Just as You gave Your Son to save us. I beg my plea, do not dismiss. For it was You that thought us compassion. And avoid faction. Father I humbly bow before Your throne. Lay her blame on my shoulders, let me atone.

Letting go and forgiveness, however simple they might seem, are very difficult for me as well. I enjoyed what you wrote.

A magnificent opening of your heart. I got a little chokey near the end. I/'/m a sucker for true love and sacrifice. I could honestly feel how much love flows from you, boet.

They say actions speak louder than words, but I must admit these words ring loud and clear. Great job!
Your effort shines through on the page. Well done.

A stunning tribute to love at its best; to offer yourself for another. I seems to me that were we all to wait for judgement day to forgive us our many sins, we would doubtless spend our lives with our heads hung in saddness.
So I have opted to forgive myself for the time that I have left, and I suspect my ability to do so will be added to my list of misdeeds at which time I shall pay the price for my premature optimism.
