It/'/s where I collect my thoughts and dispell them A fork a knife a spoon, well then Thoughts, ideas, dreams-here, they get a kickin Coming straight at you, in the kitchen
Tile floors And a sheet of smores A salad plate Sleep or a run? The great debate
A place of forgotten promises and broken diets Away from the noise, here is quiet It plays what I want on the radio I/'/ve never sat here and said, man I want to go
A place of comfort food And good and bad moods Thoughts, ideas, here- they get kickin/'/ Coming straight at you, in the kitchen

There is joy and mischief in your write! The hatchery of thoughts is the heart of the home...the kitchen.
My favorite line is
tile floors and a sheet of smores!
Takes me back to mama baking cookies and pies.
Now we order in.
Gone are the thoughts that might have been.

I wondered where you were fox?
Great write. This was so crisp and clean that I could read it fast and the flow was awesome.

Plus the coffeemaker is in there! ;)
This lightened the mood. Thank you for the smile.

so much so
wonderfully put!
me the kid learned to cook
from my mom who worked,
I had no dad around.
I remember going to the grocery
for me was quality time with
my mom, and then we two would cook.
I love to cook, and I love to shop at
the grocery still, I do say, what could
be grander, in the grocery, using your
best knowledge of all this grand foodstuff
and picking it up, should I buy it what will
I make of it, I don/'/t want to waste any of it,
the economy of it, the dropping it into a basket
on wheels, and then bagging it yourself
helping the clerk who knows you by now.
then, poetry or song on the radio while you
cook, the pot of soup bubbling over,
you learned by now to keep the lid off
allowing the smell to fill the house
the perfect simmering of all that
is good, the staple shared
with bread and decent wine
how lucky could you get
in the kitchen with your
mind that knows the secret
great at soup or a quick altogether
breakfast timing / does not matter
how many people / what we got
I can make a run
but I never will forget how
much of a luxury it is
because I grew up on the poor
side of town.
excellent verse -
"A fork a knife a spoon, well than"
you got that so right man!
Peace! |
