river of fire

Contributed by Gloomyblu on Saturday, 3rd December 2016 @ 11:38:41 AM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

a compulsion to grow and to love and to know
is what drives me every day that i/'/m awake.
and not to just take from my lovers,
but to make new wonders is all i think divine.
and i hope you/'/ll be kind,
as you end up as a line
in a collection of scribbled words about myself.
star trek figures on a shelf.
and love was fated to have faded and sometimes isn/'/t even stated.
leaving work early to spend a day in bed.
trying and failing to see what/'/s in your head.
but other times it/'/s clear and alive and we fear and we strive.
to shine like a sparkling, glitter covered star.
to never even having been where you are.
and to think my heart was heavy, because of the things i have carried,
but that was never accurate as i/'/ve learned,
after being burned,
that it/'/s not about letting go,
but that my love is a river of fire, and it must flow.

I like how you opened and closed the poem. Emotional strength in both. I enjoyed this. Well done.

this was inspiring to read!
things could come together
if one stays focused on the prize
but only if the prize itself
was meant to be real

this reads solidly written
that it burns Gloomyblu

you don/'/t need someone to say great job
when it/'/s what you do!

But hey, great job, just the same!
Peace!

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this! I like some of the choice wording to convey who you are, and what makes you tick. Well done.
