Dibs

Contributed by Voice of the Silent on Sunday, 4th December 2016 @ 09:31:13 AM in AEST
Topic: oops

I just wanna call you mine
If only for you to lay here at my side
It comforts me to know
That even if only for a time
I have somewhere to go

Where my words aren/'/t lost
Where someone sees me
For who I/'/m trying to be
Where my hearts not a cold frost

Used to be down and blue
But now you/'/ve got me burning hot
Only for you I/'/ll be baloo

If only for a time
I/'/d call you mine
Not to own just to hold
To keep from going cold

I wanna call dibs
For you I/'/ll be baloo
Cause now I don/'/t have to be blue
No more

This is a sweet and unconventional love poem.
I enjoyed it. Thank you for posting.

If only we could put a stamp on our insecurities but we can/'/t. That makes the journey. The challenges of personal confrontation. Meeting our angels, seeing our demons. I love the title. Well done.
Some try to claim but eventually fail. Property is temporary
