Second Helping

Topic: Lifepoems

/
///
life has all the right ingredients
but it can be a recipe for disaster;
sometimes it feels like the pits,
other times cheesy and overdone.

what a bizarre smorgasbord of good and evil!
served up or taken away,
dished up hot or cold,
while the greedy keep their noses in the trough,
and the masses fight over the crumbs.

sure are some hot tamales out there,
as well as assorted flakes and fruit loops.
there are tasty distractions aplenty,
most deceptive on the palate,
but not exactly food for the soul.

watch for the cereal offenders in the shadows;
sure, theyll try to butter you up
or put you in a jam,
even cook the books
if you churn too hard.

when its too hot, get out of the kitchen;
in hard times, trim the fat.
when all is in front of you, dig in
and enjoy the sauce of all goodness
as an entre into the next world.

An oxymoron smorgasbord of fine delights!

A great play on words! This has many lessons to learn in the best of fun environments! I/'/ve known some fruit loops...but my favorite image says WHILE THE GREEDY KEEP THIER NOSES IN THE TROUGH, AND THE MASSES FIGHT OVER THE CRUMBS...shades of Animal Farm!
Your ballet of analogies fairly dances across the page, and needs a second read to absorb it all!
Love it!

learn to cook
with love
learn to taste
with love
learn about
life
with flair
after all is said
and done
there is
so much
there

perfect poem
especially during the holiday
season

think about the poor
while we are at it
all
it will make it all
go down much
better if you do!

Great feast of a poem Spike!
Peace!
