I SAW THE MAN ON THE HILL SPINNING ROUNDS

Contributed by alicewhite on Thursday, 22nd December 2016 @ 10:59:45 PM in AEST
Topic: Grief

I saw the man on the hill
Spinning round
I saw the man by the board
Spinning round
Spinning sound
Spinning unspun spins to now

Swan lake
Sad song
Playing kingball
In a school
People sitting upon rocks
Stone thrones
One for the princess
Red rose letter her
Come home

Bushel bushel bushel n wheat
Playing dinosaurs I see a fallen tree
And a man a white van and animal print
He talks of wild flowers
He names them all

Pain on the back of my head
She said
Face down I am left at the edge
Of the trees
Blue wild flowers surround me
Untill someone found me

You know I saw it
You know I saw you too
Red haired boy on the bridge
You fell into the centre of the sun
Rainbow bridge connection
Spinning spins yet to be spun

Best way I can describe this is gripping. It really does. Reading it you can feel an innocence woven with imagery that suddenly explodes in color. I like how you wrote this.

This has a wicked charm to it of unease. But we know not why & that/'/s cool.

The title itself is disconcerting, but the poem as a whole is unsettling and intriguing to the extreme.
I am wildly in love with that first stanza. I love when words dance around in my mouth, and the playfulness belies the intensity of this write.

Fantastic writing, Alice! I see you have a new muse, and he fits just right. 😉
