Im killing your name.
every last syllable of it.
extinguishing that label of lineage
bequeathed by inheritance.
gone the formality, the sobriquet,
the cognomen, the moniker,
the first and last, the future and the past.
if I could, I would scour your genes
from the flesh;
flush that toxic legacy from my veins.
splice in less angry, more patient.
whitewash the selfish and paint beautiful;
remove those dead eyes and dark thoughts.
but until that is possible, Ill be content
with killing your attribution, my shame,
and consigning it to the grave
of forgotten names.
