LoveRemembered

I was coming down the stairs from a landing painted red Closed my eyes to hide the black and the blue You looked at me and my heart sputtered back from the dead Figured I could use the good there in you
But I didn`t mean to use you that way Thought you`d be a safe place to stay And you were, you did, you gave You were just the kind of guy I needed But everything I felt receded My soul, his name, engraved
I lived so long with those waves crashing down on me so hard Then we were so still I couldn`t hear a sound I spun around and hit the ground in complete disregard Missed the music, even sad songs resound
I didn`t expect to leave you that way Thought I wanted someplace away And I did, I would, I caved It was just too big a change too fast The way the dark and light contrast Unmasked, mismatched, depraved
I didn`t mean to hurt you at all Didn`t think I had further to fall But I did, I tripped, uphill So if I never said I`m sorry For being lost in purgatory I was, I am, I will One day, I may, be still
