19:04:2017....
We the human species.
Forming alliances and treaties.
With each other far and wide.
Not realizing we chose the wrong side.
Our greatest attribute our intelligence.
Is our greatest downfall through arrogance.
The higher mammals.
Placed in charge of earth and animals.
We have reduced our world to a mere village.
Abusing our every privilege.
Now we are reaching out to space.
Merely to accommodate the human race.
But how far have we truly evolved?
Maybe to the point where we will dissolve?
In the days when man had no tongue.
No words to write nor sing a song.
How did the caveman communicate?
How did he express love and hate?
With finger paintings on cave walls.
Depicting how the mighty mammoth falls.
Some time down the line came the Egyptians.
Also no words to pen down descriptions.
They used hieroglyphs.
To record specifics.
Eventually arrived the modern man.
With intricate words and elaborate plans.
Developing their Intelligence.
To the point of total negligence.

A clever history lesson on the proverbial slippery slope.
I sincerely hope your premise proves fallacious!
But your argument is based in fact, and no matter the outcome, the read is entertaining and fanciful to consider!
Very nice rhyme scheme here, it fairly dances along in a musical sort of way! I enjoy the mischief you are up to!
