What does
A child see as they peer into the darkness?
Where blubber leaks from human manufacture, a fracture
In the skull, bludgeoned , a life appears in the hand
Holding the knife, sweat pouring from strife and the creatures of the
Kingdom bleed in mans reflection, a resurrection of doubt and
Uncertainty.
And life migrates, creates, topples on its axis, we flail, our
Kingly crown of supremacy trampled!
We pass.

A testement to the tininess of life. We are born, we struggle, and we pass.
In our wake we leave a path of mistaken steps, sideward glances, mayhem, and harm.
We are not as supreme as we wish to be!
Your poem gives me renewed hope. It reminds me that even though we cover the world with concrete, tiny blades of grass will eventually find their way to sunlight.
When man/'/s time is over, the planet will heal. |
