The Need

Contributed by unknown_utopia on Sunday, 28th May 2017 @ 05:45:23 AM in AEST
Topic: insomniac

Sometimes things are not the way they seem
Sometimes friends are not the friends they seem
and there are times
when
love ones forsake me
and love is never what I dream

sometimes my world changes over night
and
I can not believe the way I am are hurting
I worry when I realize
I have felt this way before
and
the pain of living will never end

dazed and dehydrated I still I crawl
broken and bleeding
because I know there will come a time
when I find something to believe in,
I will find that paradise
where I no longer will feel the need....

Been searching for a cure
but
nothing takes away the pain of living
Sometimes
it feels like
I can endure no more.

I escape as I write
trying to explain what it feels like
insomnia states are a friend
though usually it has me writing to much
as I try to explain my confusion

There is a longing that I feel
I need it to keep believing
it is a strange pursuit that I chase
there is something somewhere
I can feel it,
it will be the place where my damage will heal
and I pray my paradise is real
its where I no longer will feel the need....

Tim summed it up very well. Great poem!
I too fully understand what you wrote. I don/'/t expect much out of life and thus my disappointments are few. Yeah, survival mode...
Well written indeed.

A personal story of hanging in there when life seems barren. Writers can identify. Many escape as you say, by writing of their feelings. Thank you for this focused description of the anticipation, reminding us to keep on believing, when there is nothing to believe in.
This is so worth another read, to lift the spirits, and help us gather the resources to move ahead.
Well said.
