FLOWER POWER

Gentlemen, we all know;
that when a woman glowers;
Nothing makes her smile again;
like sending her some flowers!

That little gasp and wide-eyed look
You shouldnt have - - shell say;
Means your goose has been uncooked;
But why is it that way?

Why are long-stemmed roses;
The soup de jour bouquet?
Instead of hand picked daisies;
Festooned in sweet array?

Its not the rose the melts the ice;
Or heals her heart so fast;
Its knowing what you sacrificed:
For something that wont last.

Youve told her shes so special;
That just to make her day;
Although you KNOW its too much dough;
You spent it anyway..

I/'/ve been tempted to pick the flowers but since they/'/re never mine, I opt for the purchase.

As of late, however, I/'/m leaning towards never buying flowers for anyone ever again, because they/'/re just a waste of money. Being kind and nice has never gotten me anywhere so I/'/m gonna start being an *******. 😉

A lovely poem, though. Very nice. Thank you.

It;s knowing that you dropped $50 to say I/'/m sorry. Doesn/'/t work with my wife. I get, "Why did you spend $50?!" It just puts me in the dog house deeper. I learn fast...if she gets roses, it/'/s to show how much I love her....never on Valentine/'/s...always out of the blue. THAT/'/s when ladies most appreciate roses, not as a weasel-dock attempt to get out of trouble. DON/'/T besmear the beauty of roses by using them that way. Then you wreck it for when you want to simply give them when not in trouble. At that point, they bring up memories not in your favor, guys.

Hand picked always mean more. THAT/'/s what get/'/s my /'/goose uncooked/'/. If you have a /'/rose/'/ type, she needs to reassess.

My wife appreciates that I went out and took the time to pick them, not that I dropped money for them. ANYONE can do that.

By the way, awesome poem, but all of them are. I feel redundant, but I can/'/t help it. You are what you are, and it is what is. And what you are is a brilliant poet!

Invierno

I/'/m with Tim on this.
I find they are often unappreciated.
That/'/s said, Mom will always get flowers. This year for her B/'/day I got her one hundred mixed roses.
That aside- another jewel of a poem!

Flowers are a peacemaker like no other it seems.
With my wife it is Carnations, not Roses, but the end result is still the same.
I guess the meaning of the rose is different things, an apology or quite simply a message of love
