See Saw

Men are linear, goal-defined;
Women see things side to side.

He goes to buy;
She goes to shop.
He is quick; she is not.

He is swifter to the goal;
She walks along the edges;
He has no need to see the whole;
She must test all the ledges.

He takes the shortest road to end;
She wanders every shadowed bend.

He speeds her up; she slows him down;
Back and forth until theyve found;

An ending somewhere in between;
That absent one was unforeseen.

I like this S - I find it funny too how I was thinking
about the same subject matter this very morning.
I was thinking, or maybe envisioning fantastically, about how I feel so comfortable in my own skin,
And yet - mystically I have lived prior to this life
as an opposite sex and with a softer skin.
If I had lived a multitude of lives, I am sure
If I was lucky enough, would have been as a female,
and that sounds rough, since I somehow know
the female holds a lot more of the stress in any life
yet is still quite capable of making something almost out of nothing because they talk among themselves
for the most part - and how strange, considering
all the colorful extremes that exist trying to deal
with superficial beauty - And Shirley - they speak more fluidly, describing what is true - more exactly (statistically) no uncommon generality needed.
The guy, if he/'/s smart, the dog if you will, only needs
to listen and not pretend so much. If he does, if he/'/s
heeled when need be, he is thought to be
a good male (dog) and he sits not worrying too much about how he looks, whether he is bald or
even ugly, and even poor, he is lucky.

what is strength, and how is it to be measured,
or mastered, or be endured.

I was a beauty, or I was a not so beautiful, just a plain girl who held within her a great mind without ever being
heard directly from - yet still produced
all things needed, all things good.

I was an XX, then an XY, then, after many generations
and many perhaps requiring too many iterations,
I kind of became both," he said",
as if he were Shirley McClain, I guess.

Peace!

Everything that you spoke of in this piece..I see in myself.. lol .. I see myself walking the fence. It greatly depends on the circumstances and the situation that is at hand as to how i will approach it. Sometimes i will walk around the issue and try to figure it out while others i will want instant gratification...Maybe that is where my problem lies with why i havent been able to write anything in a long while..That i am so anxious to write something great and worthwhile that I am not willing or wanting to take my time to actually put it into words..exhibiting both female and male characteristics...momma/'/s boy growing up and the hardened, military groomed man turned loyal and stubborn husband and father. Seems like every piece you have written as of late has opened my eyes to traits that i possess whether they be good or flaw..both of which i know are character builders. Bravo on penning yet another great piece.
