Face-off

Contributed by redwest802 on Sunday, 25th June 2017 @ 06:12:14 PM in AEST
Topic: political

Our world, it is indeed,
a strange and horrid place.
Where Men who have no morals,
Can be held in great steed and grace.

Where compassion is shown, as a sign of the weak,
And a bleeding heart is a term to insult.
where factions like left and right are paraded,
as if the system has failed and broke

Where unscrupulous deals, being made behind doors,
Deals that seal, deaths, destruction and wars
That send our brothers to death for no reason,
In this battle of evil, religion and treason.

Where some who have great wealth,
who have a chance to save, but no,
they choose to be the faceless men,
blue ties on, and politicians to go.

They hide behind their big corps name,
and are never made to face the shame .
of what they are doing and what they have done,
playing humans like puppets at the end of a gun.

Dangling in the fore, a fear to drive,
these faceless men will do anything to survive.
to live and take, what they dont deserve,
but still they are placed high in reserve.

Until the day that must come to pass,
when we, the people, stand up at last,
Until that day you can be sure,
These faceless men, will grasp for more

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
