Walking Infidelity

Contributed by MoonlitAngel on Friday, 7th July 2017 @ 11:18:24 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

I think you see yourself having changed
But I think deep down you`re just the same
Act two and echoes reverberate
Lights so bright would blind anyone the same
Our story was a happy one then too
Time was, I gave up everything for you
Your love was a boundless winged creature
Wrapped around me, but your heart still reached her

Time, it passes and we do adapt
We bend and we break until something snaps
The truth is, happy endings are just
Stories that haven`t yet turned to dust
Don`t get me wrong, I`m not saying you won`t
You feel like you know, but you just don`t
Flames burn out, embers they turn to ash
Close your eyes and it`s gone in a flash

She is your walking infidelity
You, camouflaged instability
History repeats, will you escape?
Could you learn how to de-escalate?
I hope you can rewrite your story
Refrains so meaningless, "I`m so sorry"
All the things you could not do for me
Could build a life a little less stormy
