The Moment You Hate Them

Contributed by lydthon15 on Monday, 17th July 2017 @ 11:55:37 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

And then you hate them for it, but you shouldnt. Because their jacket is still at your house.
They left it there in good faith, thinking theyd have many more chances to get it back.

Because when they said theyd be there for you forever, you could tell they honestly meant it.
They didnt shuffle their feet or refuse to meet your eyes.
But then one day, they woke up and unexpectedly, forever wasnt so true for them anymore.
Or maybe it was true, but with someone else.

They didnt cheat or lie, they were straightforward like theyve always been.

Its was over so soon and quietly, youre mother still asks about them.

You dont tell her its over because, if you do youll say it and you/'/ll sound angry.
Like you were betrayed even though you know you werent.
You dont tell her because you dont want her to hear the fear in your voice.
The fear that knowing someone can just randomly stop loving you causes.

I guess you could look at it that way
but
they should not have said it
if they did not mean it,
hurts much when they stop loving us randomly.....

I love how this is hard hitting, direct and to the point.
Sometimes it is hard to keep the anger in check when all you want to do is scream the frustration.
Very powerful and thought provoking

Steve

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
