Lonely Nights Flow

Contributed by unknown_utopia on Tuesday, 18th July 2017 @ 10:36:29 AM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

As I look
at the stars at night
emotional feelings crescendo
as I wonder
if love is really gone,
lately you have been acting strange
and think I do not know
but I can tell
there is something wrong.

When we are together
I feel alone
in silence
my soul cracks in pain
why does love die so slow?

The words to let me go
are never said
I just keep hanging on
as I remember what love was
just before it leaves and fades
and we are together no more.

By myself on lonely nights
when there is no one else around
all I do is think of you
and I cry
because I do not know what to do with out you

By myself on lonely nights
that is when I emotionally break down
all I do is think of you
it hurts to know
we are not in love anymore.

Painful to read. So yes, thoughts very well conveyed. I can feel you here.

You have taken us all to a place familiar! How well you describe the state of loss in all its confusion, and, like love lost, your poem keeps coming back to the same place...
By using simple words to describe a complicated mood, you have made the tale very believable.

The question you pose with this anguished write is WHY DOES LOVE DIE SO SLOW?
That line is the introduction and the finale to your beautiful and sincere message.

Life gives us bitter pills to swallow sometimes and dutifully we do.
Loved the lines:
"My soul cracks in pain"
"Why does love die so slow?/'/
Powerful stuff indeed. The human mind is complex when we want it to be simple.
