Writers journey

Contributed by softerware on Monday, 31st July 2017 @ 09:39:12 PM in AEST
Topic: poets

To think in ink, the writer sinks;
In quicksands of his dreams;
Through neon caverns faintly blinking
Long forgotten themes.

Primevil rise the tides inside;
Starved on crumbs of loathing;
Caked in rust, like childrens trust;
Unraveling cobwebs clothing.

From where is born the raging storm;
That renders thought assunder?
Or calms to glassy silent lake;
Pristine and full of wonder.

Be still this mind; or leave behind;
A crumpled hollow shell;
To sort and count, but not surmount;
The tell where nightmares dwell.

No eye can see inside of thee;
Where each creates existence;
Exiled to islands all are we;
Impaled on hopes persistence.

WOW!! again. You should have made "Alice in Poetryland" the title.. :)
So many feelings wrapped up in so few words. Brought back the feeling I get deep down while Im writing. "Exiled to islands all are we;" that is every poets secret place where the true us dwells.
Another great piece my friend. Amazes me how you are able to write works like this so quickly...I used to be able to do this but Ive become a perfectionist when I write.
