She works all day, to spend her pay; On things she cant afford. Her week-ends at the laundramat; Or at the grocery store.
Her nights evaporate in sleep; Her evenings are for chores. Coaching boys, who leave her toys; And fingerprints on doors.
Shes losing them to cellphones; TV, computers, friends; Dinner, dentists, homework; And struggles to pretend;
That she knows all there is to know; And how long til the day; They learn her minds, behind their time; And come to doubt her ways?
The years unfold; shed sell her soul; For one day all alone; Without a plan, that overran The life she used to own!
Time will say she found her way; Her sons have long departed; The path they go she hopes will show; In values she imparted.
The years unfold; shed sell her soul; If only they would call. The circle closes; she grows roses; That climb her garden wall.
Again to sow, and watch them grow, Shell weed and plant and tend. Shell give her all, to see them tall; Her empty heart to mend.

WOW WOW WOW!!! Breathtaking...I think you just put into words what every parent dreads and longs for. Wishing for children to grow and fly and in a blink of an eye wish them small again but realizing that it is too late. This could pass for a Shakespearean sonnet except with twice as many lines..GREAT piece my friend and I look forward to your next work of art.

I find this very sad. I watched this with my folks.
I was always by their side but I know many have no support and grow old alone. Very sad. It is a selfish world we live in. Another jewel from Jaye! |

Very nice. And an unfortunate truth. I like this one a lot even though it/'/s very sad |
