If you want your writing read;
Youd better make it short!
This generations way ahead;
And time is in their court!
Emails archaic, understand?
Theyd rather that you text.
So send it all in shorthand;
And get on with whats next.
Readings not a passtime;
Its now become a sport!
All LOL and selfies;
Five seconds of discourse!
I dont own a cell you see;
Im way behind the times;
But I know that my poetry;
Must not exceed 8 lines.
This poems too long; I must desist!
I hear impatient taps!
(As if Id written WAR AND PEACE;
And dared you not to nap)!
Pray give me time to tell a rhyme;
Just think of poems as rap!
WYWH til I can clear,
This generation gap!

The secret is out, darn!!!
So true...... Write a masterpiece and go long and they go home. How sad but true just between me and you. I hung in there because I knew it would be worth it. And it was!!!

how very true this is..im only 39 and im learning this from my kids. They want single word questions and answer when i give them novels and lectures. Great piece of work as always..I guess that im old fashioned for my age..lol
