The License Plate

Contributed by softerware on Wednesday, 6th September 2017 @ 08:49:48 PM in AEST
Topic: SpecialOccassion

A father gave his daughter fame;
A license plate that said her name.
His gift to her on Christmas Day;
For her birthday, by the way.

In a riddle dontcha know;
It read - JKMNO.

To cars behind it was a game;
To try and guess his daughters name!
By going through the alphabet;
Youll see whats missing here, and yet

Very few would come to tell;
Her name from just a missing L!
As his daughter went her way;
Her father hoped wed point and say;

See that plate? Why, theres no L!
And theyd be right - for dad chose well;
His birthday gift to sweet Noell.

it hurts man,
the daughter, the little girl
all that pride and joy
she is mine and yet
not to keep or to
keep, nor to lose
but she is missed

I read licence plates
like I read speed signs

in heavy traffic
with the feeling that I/'/m
missing something
all the time

sweet...
Peace!
