Harder Softer You

Contributed by Invierno on Thursday, 21st September 2017 @ 12:30:38 AM in AEST
Topic: surreal

There...there in the rear view mirror,
I see you again, my friend.
When you held that gun up,
I swore we were at an end, we had crossed a bend.
So now I/'/m leaving Santa Fe/'/,
I/'/m running hard away from you again,
but your smile chases me,
why can/'/t I see another face, find another friend.
You, it always comes back around to you,
no matter what was said, what you did,
I can/'/t escape the simple truth,
I/'/m a broken jar without a lid,
and even though I buried you in the desert wind,
Oh, the night sang so hard, the wind it blew,
now I don/'/t know if I/'/m running from, or if I/'/m chasing you.

This is a tale of a wrong that has not been forgiven. Our history will always call us to return; it is a siren who tempts us.
Until we forgive what we cannot repair, we are indeed chasing our past.
The circle is a whirlpool, and we would be wise not to swim in its current too long.
Your message resonates with many; and reminds us to take our own good counsel.

the questions nobody will ever ask,
when exactly, when, how, what were you,
what did you think, before..,
the pale blue sun, the caustic ill wind,
which sets you apart from then, until
now, the breaking point, when were
you first broken, did you even know,
does anyone ever grow, or is it
always apart - his knees ran away
his back one day robbed the feeling
in his toes, he had a name,
that/'/s all anyone has ever got,
past a name, past a friend
just doing what any friend might
have done at anytime
wondering what trust was,
or what it was never -
what is never,
erased.
Truly never.

this is extraordinary writing Inveirno,
"now I don/t know, if I am running from,
or if I am chasing you"

Its a story, life is. It has meaning.
great write.
a heavy load. musics like this. tones, tonality
in single notes, that stop and start, an open
string you play on guitar, that was always there
and didn/'/t need a finger on the fret
just the other hand with a pic

Peace!
