The Staircase

Contributed by softerware on Saturday, 28th October 2017 @ 01:44:20 PM in AEST
Topic: HumorPoetry

Once the staircase seemed so big
Or was it I was small?
At dizzy heights it wound from sight;
Into our darkened hall.

I couldnt reach the handrail;
My feet too short to climb;
Id sit, then pull my legs up next;
One stair at a time!

Bobbing backwards, oh so slow!
Id sit, swing, and repeat;
Passed by taller legs you know;
While I climbed by my seat!

My sister was much faster;
Shed race right past and laugh;
And then one day they casted her;
To heal a broken calf.

She sat each step beside me;
We swung our legs around.
We climbed in synchronousity;
Sit up, sit up, sit down!

Its easier to criticize;
The methods others use;
Than realize to our surprise;
We wished wed learned them too!

A fun smile-giving poem :)

Reminds me of what my friend would say at my old job whenever he did some weird or more time-consuming means of a task:
"There/'/s a method to the madness"

Beautifully written. I love the cadence of this -
almost like a staircase itself. And what an
enlightened finale! Wonderfully done!

This was a fun read. I/'/ll return to read it again --
^_^

I can only echo the sentiments of the other commentees in this , it made me smile and think back to being a child all over again.
It also reminded me a little of the tortoise and the hare story, everyone gets there in the end by whatever means suits them best.
