Knock Knock at my door.
Who could it be?
The sherriff with outstanding warrants for me?
Maybe a student to sell magazines;
An activist planning to make me go green?
Weight Watchers trying to manage my weight?
A roofer whos here about 2 years too late.?
A package from Fed Ex? I could be wrong!
Triple A telling me I should belong?
Whatever youre selling;
I dont need no more!
(Ill wait til its dark to open the door).
On the porch is a card with a ribbon no less;
Saying "Youve won a prize; youre the best of the best!"
First we rang, then we knocked, and we saw you hide!
Such rude behavior has made us decide:
We cant leave your prize since we no longer list you".

This was lovely Jaye-lol
It rings so true as well as being funny with a great flow. Weird it has the 20-30/'/s era appeal to me. In the day when people read you would be filthy rich. You were born many decades too late. But ain/'/t it the truth that when you hide it was actually going to be something good- darn. I loved this! |
