Darkness my old friend

Topic: InspirationalPoems

Darkness...it goes by many monikers

The Unknown,
The Void,
Emptiness...

All of which are inherently negative but what if I said that there was more to it?
What if I told you what it represents is more than just fear?

Potential is a funny thing..it hides in the darkest corners of our soul.
Hoping against all hope to be brought out and embraced by the light.
But..before it can do so it stays in the dark.
Waiting for the day, you can overcome the dark and embrace it.

Darkness..
Though often thought to be an empty shell
In it could hide the very potential needed of being something more

Darkness..
Though often thought to be a pit of which there is no escape
In it could truly house an exercise of how to never give up.

Darkness..
Once thought to be evil, the worst state one could be
Could truly be meant for the betterment of your growth as a person..

Do not fear the Darkness..embrace it.
Strength is not given to those who are complacent.
Neither is patience given to those who are overindulgent.
Do not fear the Darkness..control it.
Potential hides in the darkest corners of our soul so remember..you are not alone.
For in all things, Darkness is needed for light to shine the brightest.

An eloquent tale of belief and self renewal. Whether you fear darkness or daylight, this story applies. When you need strength, you will find it in yourself.
I think I shall go out and flex my emotional muscles !
Thank you for this thought provoking assessment!

Wonderful! As is said no light without dark. I find the darkness a mystery to help explore my different ideas. You made this thought ring a bell in my darkest corners. Thanks. Great write.
