SHAZAM!

Topic: dedicatedpoems

Jim Nabors always said "Shazam", that was his catchphrase.
Because of his contributions to television, he deserves praise.
It was hard for him to watch the opening credits of Gomer Pyle because many of those Marines died in Vietnam.
We always know that he/'/s on Gomer Pyle or the Andy Griffith Show when we hear him say "Shazam".
We also remember him yelling "Citizen/'/s Arrest".
All of his fans are sad and they/'/re also depressed.
He also starred in some movies, two of which were Cannonball Run 2 and Stroker Ace.
His friends, fans and family have to say goodbye, his death is hard for them to face.

Until I read your dedication I did not know he had passed. Well done, he would be proud. He fell off our radar many years ago but will never be forgotten. Those were the days....

Gomer was a thorn in Sgt Vince Carters hide, yet the two were in someway the same, least that is what Gomer Pyle private in the USMC always thought.
My older brother was in Vietnam. I was a kid watching that show, so there you have this fun loving Gomer, and then you have body bags, kids in their teenage years still coming back home missing limbs, my brother came home one night unexpectedly and thankfully fully intact. His buddy whom he grew up with also came back intact, but
he was lost on drug induced, war induced trauma, extremely fidgety he could hardly talk, his eyes were blinking uncontrollably he soon became a heroin addict at what 21 years old, someone you could not trust for a second. My brother thought his friend Steve would never make it back for real. Thank God he eventually did. BTW, my dad was a Marine too in WWII,
and no, he did not live in a TV barracks instead he saw many of his buddies die from gunfire, from hand grenades and from disease in the South Pacific,
That entire show was stupid, one big huge gigantic lie.
But sure, Jim Nabors, he was a good guy.
None of it was his fault!

Peace!
