Oh, such a party! Gloved ladies in gowns; Men in tuxedos, in limos abound!
Great marble ballrooms neath gold chandeliers; Orchestras, candlelight, wine somoliers!
All who afford it are sure to be there! Come and be seen at this gala affair!
The restaurant owners have laid out a spread; The wineries pour til it goes to our our heads!
The auctions begun; raise your credit cards high; For bangles and baubles well bid to the skies!
The auctioneer knows we will spend far too much; In hopes to help those who are down on their luck.
Tomorrow our heads and our wallets will ache; But tonight we are spending for charities sake.
Whats gained here or lost ultimately depends; On where you are standing when the night ends.
For this is as close as opposites get; The rich to remember; the poor to forget.
Back to your penthouse; or back to the street; When the nights over, both will retreat; Home to the worlds that never shall meet.

Dearest Soft
I/'/ve been away to long and what a wonderful way to return.
This is and exquisite peace. It/'/s a shame that we have poor but it/'/s an even bigger shame we have rich.
Did you know? That if everyone that has shares a little with everyone that doesn/'/t have then everyone will have
I just love this peace. This time of year it makes one think. I for one am grateful I have to share.
Thank you for this reminder that we should show comparison and more importantly lend a helping hand, not to gain but just because we can
God bless and a blesse Xmas
Greetings

A very insightful and provocative write.
I can better respect a donor if they do it in secrecy and if there was no tax write off in the process.
But money is money to a cause no matter where it comes from. I dont belive the working rich should be ashamed of their wealth if it is legitimately earned. Why should they be??
There will always be those that have and those that don/'/t. |

Great marble ballrooms ‘neath gold chandeliers;
Orchestras, candlelight, wine somoliers!
Well done on the soft alliterative rhyme!
The content, the message, is a real one, and speaks to all.
I really like this one!
