A Digital World

Topic: sarcasticpoetry

We/'/re living in a digital world
Go ahead kick back
And give it a whirl
Worded wisdom is your claim to fame
Stole from another, ain/'/t that a shame
A Facebook star is what you are
You/'/re living a dream from afar
Too bad they don/'/t know you
Cause they would see it/'/s all you can do
Be the first with the news
Go ahead make them all blue
It doesn/'/t matter who you really are
They/'/ll never know you
Cause you live a digital life from afar
Yeah you/'/re living a dream
The man to be, If they could only see
But oh no, I can never let that be
I/'/m nothing but a face on the screen
Going nowhere if you know what I mean

Your write made me think (as you always do!) of how we are evolving. The price is our human identity. I am not an avatar.

We are increasingly faceless. We do not connect--we link. We dont communicate; we broadcast, or and publish.
We talk AT others, not TO or WITH them.
We cannot see, hear, or speak, -- only text.
For access to the information highway, we have to hide to be safe.
Kind of like trying to get a suntan with a bullet proof vest on.

The digital world is the real world now. Sad times. Many choose to live their fake lives online while reality is loosing its value

/ Sounds like you/'/re writing about who I refer to as keyboard cowards. Some call them keyboard commandos. Or...I could be wrong, of course.

"Worded wisdom is your claim to fame" is what made me think that.

Anyways, I like it. Keepa writin/'/!!!

Thanks,

modern technology has ruined life as we knew it
you can never leave home
but
still have relationships of the digital kind
some good comes from it
some bad
never do we really knowing who we are communicating with

This is the exact message that i am trying to get my
kids to realize. They are so addicted (and that is exactly what it is, an addiction) to their phones,
tablets, and computers. They are afraid to power
down and unplug for the fear that they are going
to miss something. Getting them to realize that
what is going on outside in the REAL world is what
they are really missing. GENERATION TECH
is in for a rude awakening when they leave the nest. Im honestly afraid for kids now.
Yes parents are partially to blame but society has to take responsibility for the other half.

The Truth Hurts, Thanks for sharing

Rich
