We should thank God for each day we have to live. We should thank him for every day that he gives. He could take us twenty years from now or today. Nobody knows when the good Lord will take us away. But we should thank him for each day he gives to us. We should thank him every day until we die when our bodies will return to dust.

There is nothing like a near-death experience to make us grateful for each day!
Perhaps we avoid daily thankfulness because it preoccupies us with our inevitable demise?
The older we get, the more grateful we become for the time we have left. Life becomes precious.
But, (as your poem reminds us) life always was.

yes and without question.
thank your lucky stars,
someone said to me
when in a county hospital
that tended to the indigent
but you are the real deal
no matter what side of the
tracks you hail from
If one would ever
dream of simple
relaxation, simple
pleasures, any type
of feeling truly loved
yes, they would
You say thank God,
this is a specimen,
God, is
built-in this
hallowed ground
where all
have lived,
rejoice most
especially when
you can
And then God lives
within as well
as without
Peace! |
