Survive The Dark

Contributed by WellEyeDo on Tuesday, 20th February 2018 @ 02:34:59 AM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

Brother I hear you in your silence
The suffering done in quiet
You can survive the dark
Sister I see you in your hiding
The pain that your denying
You can survive the dark
And though it all feels so hopeless
Alone in a world of noises
Clutching broken moments closest
Hope hasn/'/t abandon you
Not all hearts are carved from stone
A beating just bitter cold
Let go of your winters
When you pray for summer rain
If you afraid of drowning
Give me your hand
And I can keep you safe
Because I have navigated those roads
Where everything is deafening
In your head memories scream
Your heart left broken
Searching for some way out
overwhelming questions
They never stop nagging
How can anyone understand
When youd sell your soul
For just a passing of sanity
Still here I am
Just a stranger with an ear to lend
Concerned I keep an out reached hand
Because I know it all to well
The feel of the burning
When you walk through miles of hell

My favorite line is LET GO OF YOUR WINTERS.
You are willing to help others carry their burdens.
I hope they learn from you to carry their own with grace and patience.
We are so unkind to ourselves; so unforgiving.
Your poem is of hope and endurance, and the light at the end of darkness. It is an embrace. One heart reaching out for another.
In a cynical world this is so refreshing.
