End Stage! Rendering physical to Dysfunctional. Robotic malfunction. Victims speechless! Fear pumping, Wondering, Waiting. Returning to knowing. Eyes close to living. Teeth grind! Frail hands tap at Pain, pleasure prohibited. Life/'/s struggle Turns to the Executioner. Throttling! Slowly, opens The exit door. Gasps move Once rigid jaw And she has gone.

I wince at this
it bites down hard
like a clamp
where we go
even when...
I feel sad in this
instance, within
all its domain.
And I say,
sorry and sad
I do feel along
with you best I
can though it
never would
help.
I was a kid
stuck in the hospital
once, in a wheel
chair, sitting
for an Xray
and there she
was this dignified
woman, just
gone by
senile dementia
they called it.
But you have
somebody
and somebody
is somebody
with a soul.
I am sorry
for your loss.
Peace!

Dementia is what I call Satan/'/s Blessing. My mom had it and my aunt (her sister) had it. I know how hard it can be. Anna, I am so sorry you and your family had to endure this. Huge hug.
This poem is very emotive and hits straight to the heart.
Again, big hugs!

A difficult topic made moreso by your personal experience. But you give us a front row seat to the inevitable decline, and your write is so compelling we cannot turn away from the tragedy approaching.
A fond farewell relived in no uncertain terms. I wish you the peace you seek.

It/'/s a hard and bitter stinging subject to write about but you have done the subject justice at least.
It reminds us all that the mind is a fragile thing.
Sad for your suffering :(

Please accept my sincerest condolences, this illness is merciless. This hits close to home as my family is dealing with this now.
The decline happened quite fast. A blessing and a curse combined, I think.
You captured this end stage quite well. Thanks for sharing.
