IDIOMS

Topic: HumorPoetry

Idioms they say will pay a penny for your thoughts;
The method to their madness is how cleverly theyre wrought!

Whether you beat bushes, or bark up the wrong tree;
All great minds think alike says I eventually!

They call you off your rocker, to watch you buy the farm;
So hold your horses, haste makes waste, the third time is a charm!

With pedal to the metal; its like falling of a log;
With any luck, youll pass the buck, and live high off the hog!

To add fuel to fire; its all catch as catch can;
Just one drop in the bucket; may flash your pan, my man!

Close but no cigar my friend; start scratching where it itches;
Wine and dine; a stitch in time may turn your rags to riches.

Sleeping at the wheel will surely lead to your demise;
While sawing off a log or two, the rest may drop like flies!

Clearly I have bitten off much more that I can chew;
When it rains it pours you know, throw in my towel, Im through!

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
