Seaton Castle

Contributed by Durango on Friday, 30th March 2018 @ 04:55:27 AM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

On an unmapped land of mystery

Stands a castle of opaque stone;

A sinister wind blows frantic,

Tossing dead leaves, aimlessly blown.

A man, a creature, an ancient beast

Glides through the castle without walking;

When he speaks, I hear quiet groans

Of faceless voices talking.

His eyes, as if lit by darkness

To never see the sun again,

Penetrates my surface thoughts

And renders me weak within.

As his guest, he gives me his bed,

That strokes my body with a lustful mood;

The moon emerges like a ghost

Illuminating naked forms that crave my blood for food.

The lonely air inside his room

Craved the darkness he unfurled;

Hideous is he who takes my life

Into a squalid din, of his fetid world.

Outside, wolves howl in restless rhythm,

Obedient to their dark master;

I was welcomed to Seaton Castle,

Whose occupants cannot quench their evil hunger.

OK...I/'/ll be counting sheep for a few weeks after this one! YIKES.
It reads like the opening scenes of a horror movie.
And I am thankful I/'/m not in a dark theater!

There is nothing unexpected in your tale to imprint it with your signature. But knowing your capacity for imagination, I will be careful what I ask for!

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
