Lets look at words about to be;
Banished to obscurity!
As new words come to take their place;
Lets make a list, delete, erase!
TAPE RECORDERS, FLOPPY DISCS,
CASSETTES and CDs made the list!
TABLETS have replaced LAPTOPS;
And IPHONES soon will be forgot!
THRICE is gone; TWICE is next;
AD or PROMO; which is best?
Though CARBON COPIES arent seen;
Thats what CC emails mean!
Hashtags now are all the rage;
Replacing POUND SIGNS center stage.
Coined by Google techies so;
We could let the # key go!
Cinemas are where well be;
Not to MOVIES; nosiree!
KODAK MOMENTS once enjoyed;
Are gone with FILM, like POLAROID.
We neednt REWIND like before;
Or ROLL UP windows on our cars!
And no one asks if you prefer;
SMOKING OR NON-SMOKING sir!
MODEMS, 8-TRACKS, take us back;
To PRINCESS PHONES and BOOTHS, to yak.
When MA BELL charged us just a dime;
The same price as a quick shoeshine!
So unpack your HULA HOOP;
Your POODLE SKIRT and SHOOT-THE-CHUTE!
Try to keep up DADDY-O;
Your age is showing, dontcha know!

Great poem Jaye. Wow I can/'/t imagine how you put this all together and although very funny, sadly it is true.
I guess we are now the obsolete generation.

who says that anymore,
oh, but they still think
it, in a world where everybody

because of the chitterchatter that was
far too verbose in such a tiny little
space, why it was unmentionable
and sanctimonious beyond mention
for any gentile person afraid
of Jewish partisanship, gemini
or Claudius Ptolemy, Ruth Benedict
said to Franz Boas who studied physics
and got his PhD from Kiel - where in Germany
the university which was founded in 1665,
I guess he wasn/'/t good enough for Heidelberg,
but then, who is.

hash tags are not all in the rage
they are varied, you would use
geographical landmarks to find
physiological entities that were
hidden from the naked eye
before there was GPS,
at least that/'/s what they told
me in school before they had satellites
And before little chips with specific tissue information were placed within every identifiable human organ
prior to conception in each and every test tube---
Test Tube, what the heck is a Test Tube???
